Cargills Saru Bima

Cargills (Ceylon) PLC first engaged the local agriculture community in 1999 with the commencement of its first collection centre for vegetables. Cargills Saru Bima is a fund established in 2008 in Thanamalwila where the Company initiated a concept of giving-back 50 cents for each kilogram of vegetables purchased from the farmers in the community to be utilized for community empowerment.

Cargills Bank Limited was honored to be a part of Cargills (Ceylon) PLC’s corporate initiative to provide banking services to more than 200 students and farmer community partners at the event.

Cargills Bank opened savings accounts for all the winners and providing them with ATM cards, and passbooks and support the winners in their future endeavors as envisaged by Cargills (Ceylon) PLC.
