Cargills Bank expands by opening third branch – (Daily FT)

Cargills Bank recently announced the opening of its third branch at No. 34, Maitland Crescent, Colombo 7. Prior to this Cargills Bank had two branches located No. 696, Galle Road, Colombo 03 and No. 326, Old Moor Street, Colombo 12.

The newly opened Maitland Crescent branch will offer superior customer service and personalised financial solutions to fulfill the needs of their valued customers. The branch which offers a wide variety of banking services such as savings accounts, current accounts, children’s savings account, senior citizens accounts as well as foreign currency accounts is also equipped with ample parking facilities in the heart of Colombo to provide customers with greater convenience. A venture promoted by Cargills (Ceylon) PLC and CT Holdings PLC, Cargills Bank also has a strong financial background. Merril J. Fernando, the Chairman MJF Group of Companies, the second largest shareholder with a 10% stake in Cargills Bank told the opening of Maitland Crescent Branch: “As an investor, I am very scrupulous about my investments and Cargills Bank was a well thought of decision I’ve made.”

“Banks need to put the customer’s well-being ahead of any other motive. We need to contribute towards the development and advancement of the small entrepreneurs. I’m confident that the bank will initiate and create a small venture capital fund initially to cater to small upcoming entrepreneurs,” Fernando said. “I am convinced that Cargills Bank’s focus on customer well-being is very positive. I’m happy to see the bank has opened its third branch within a short time span and I’m confident that future expansion plans of the bank will greatly benefit the citizens of Sri Lanka,” he added.
